Clean studio product shots are seamlessly integrated into styled lifestyle backgrounds, transforming plain product photography into polished, campaign-ready imagery.
ABOUT THE WORK
This project demonstrates a product-to-scene compositing workflow applied to two different product types: a sushi platter and a decorative wooden horse figurine. Each product was originally photographed in a controlled studio setting against a plain white background. These isolated product shots were then composited into separate pre-styled lifestyle environments — an outdoor wooden table with garden ambiance for the sushi, and a moody, festive marble tabletop scene with a wrapped gift box for the horse figurine. The goal was to place each product naturally within its new environment, adjusting scale, perspective, lighting, and shadow to match the destination scene convincingly.
The main challenge was harmonizing the studio-lit products with backgrounds that had entirely different lighting conditions, color temperatures, and depth of field. The sushi needed to match the warm, sunlit, shallow-focus look of the outdoor table setting, while the horse figurine required blending with the darker, cooler, and more atmospheric lighting of the seasonal scene. In both cases, achieving accurate shadow direction, reflection consistency, and edge blending was essential to avoid a flat, "cut-out" appearance and keep the added product visually grounded in its new setting.
Both composites successfully transform plain studio photography into rich, contextual lifestyle imagery suitable for marketing and seasonal campaigns. The sushi now appears as part of an inviting outdoor dining setup, while the wooden horse figurine reads as a natural addition to a festive gift display. The results highlight a reliable compositing process for repurposing simple product shots into versatile, scene-ready visual content.
