A lifestyle photo featuring two different team-branded garments is transformed to match a separate product's exact colorway, logo, and branding.
ABOUT THE WORK
This project involved taking an existing lifestyle photograph of two models wearing apparel from different sports teams and converting both garments to match the color scheme, logo, and branding of a target product — Miami Dolphins Nike apparel. The hoodie's color-blocking, drawstrings, and dolphin logo were recreated to replace the original Buffalo Bills design, while the polo shirt's color and chest logo were updated to reflect the Dolphins branding in place of the original Philadelphia Eagles look. Throughout the edit, the natural fabric texture, folds, shadows, and lighting from the original lifestyle photo were preserved to keep the transformation seamless and believable.
The primary challenge was accurately mapping the reference product's exact colors and logo placement onto garments with different folds, wrinkles, and lighting conditions in the lifestyle photo. This required precise masking around the fabric's natural creases so that the new colors and logos would bend and shade correctly with the existing fabric movement, rather than appearing flat or pasted on. Matching the specific teal and orange tones under the photo's ambient lighting, while also correctly replicating fine logo details in a smaller, on-body scale, demanded careful color grading and detail work.
The final composite convincingly presents both models wearing the target Miami Dolphins apparel, with natural-looking fabric behavior, accurate branding, and consistent lighting throughout. This result demonstrates a reliable workflow for repurposing existing lifestyle photography across different product colorways or team licenses, saving the need for entirely new photoshoots for each variation.
